ABOUT MY PAINTINGS
In life, there are times when no words need be to be said to express how we feel. There are times when simple thoughts stir enormous emotions in our hearts and minds. And small gestures, in hindsight, become grand. The same can be said for a painting.
I hope when you view my work....most importantly you feel something. What that feeling is will be defined by your own memories and past. I hope my work reminds you of someone you love or once loved. Perhaps you'll see your children, perhaps you'll see your Mother, you might very well, even see yourself in one of my paintings.
Often times, when looking back we don't remember details but, we do remember emotions. It is this very feeling I attempt to capture in my work. That fleeting almost dreamlike state of looking back as someone you love moves forward. As a Mother, I find those moments all too often....especially as my children grow. There is both a sense of peace and sadness as someone leaves us and moves on. Perhaps that's why we cry at Weddings. We experience sadness while letting go and at the same time joy when recalling all of those yesterdays.
